Sometimes you have to be twins

Yet another reason why being at an all girls school is so great...you can be twins every once in awhile...

NDMU ASO 2014

Yesterday was a blast it was accepted student overnight!! I got to spend time with my fellow student ambassadors, admissions counselors, and prospective students. It is crazy to think that 3 years ago that was me, walking in with my sleeping bag grabbing my name tag and riding downtown to the harbor for a scavenger hunt. I have to say over these past three years I couldn't be happier. I have met life long friends that I wouldn't trade for the world and it all started at Accepted Student Overnight 2011 and i wish the same for the beautiful incoming class of 2018

Inspiration Boards

This week the CA's (RA's) did it again with a great program. We bought a bunch a magazines and paint to Gator Alley for students to make vision boards. Around this time of the semester it can get very hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. From papers to projects and tests life can seem a little cloudy so we thought we would give everyone a little something to remind them that they are fabulous and will make it through. This one is mine

Taking Risks

Every week the Community Assistants at Notre Dame have to send in weekly reports and one of the questions is what is one of the lessons you have learned this week, And honestly this week I learned all about taking chances. For some reason all through High School I wanted to be very involve but was too afraid that if I did my grades would suffer. However since I have been at NDMU I am no longer afraid of that I take on so much and sometimes maybe more than what I should but in the end it is all worth it. In life you can't be afraid to take risks or try those things that you have never tried before because you will only regret that you hadn't later on in life. So go ahead take those risks speak your mind and stay true to yourself because it will all pay off

Opening Day

Good Evening Lovely People,
Today was the best day of the semester so far! My friend and I went to the Orioles Opening Day!! It was so much fun to run into friends from high school and even staff at Notre Dame. I guess we all got a bad case of Opening Day and called off from work and school!

Cup full of sunshine

This week has been more than a challenge for me. From dealing with serious issues in the residence halls to studying for all of my midterm exams. However when I stop to look at the situation or needed some support I was surrounded by such wonderful friends faculty and staff that just praise and support me in all that I do. I swear that is the best part about Notre Dame having all of these wonderful people in this amazing community. It's kind of like your own cup of sunshine on a rainy day

Gator Alley gets an UPGRADE

Our A La Carte dining option received an upgrade over our spring break and I approve. My favorite part is that there is a make your own salad station it was soo good!!!

Kites for my Residents

It is about that time of the semester where I have to make my second door tags for my residents and as I start to make them I realize these are my last ones with these residents. I love being a CA (RA) and getting to know these beautiful Notre dame women and being involved in creating that amazing community here that had me from "welcome to Notre Dame" and as some of these women graduate or move on to their next year I know all of them will do great things

Scholarship Dinner

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world I got to spend part of my night with the beautiful NDMU alum's they are all amazing and have come from different walks of life. I can't wait to able to look back on all of my experiences here and share them with incoming students

Oh I love NDMU

Hey ladies this week has been an NDMU filled week for me and it isn't even over yet! We are looking for a new president for NDMU. So far we have had some great candidates who I know can do the job. I was just thinking about it earlier, my class will have had a new president every year we have been here and honestly it has been such an honor to meet all of the different presidents and I really want this new one to be a mix of all three :). Anyway I visited Annapolis with NDMU's chief of staff for the 4th time I went twice my sophomore year and was even asked to speak in front of our state representatives, which ended up being the best experience ever. This week I went to a hearing to support the program that gives NDMU money to have such great financial aid for students. Walking through the state and senate house in Annapolis really has my mind wondering if I would like to run for congress one day. But I would love to be the president of NDMU way more :). I am so grateful to be apart of such a great community here at NDMU. The faculty and staff here have seen something in me from my freshman year, therefore they keep recommending me for all of these opportunities to represent our school and for that I am truly grateful. My biggest advice to all if you is to get involved, talk to people you would never have before, work hard in class and become apart of organizations and clubs I promise it will pay off one day

My weekend

Hey girls hey, I have so much exciting news to share. PitchFit had our auditions, they weren't as successful as I wanted them to be however we have a new member who is a freshman with an amazing voice. I had the best weekend ever I found out that I got hired to be a Community Assistant again for next year!! Also I spent my weekend hanging out with friends at Winterfest and it was better than it has ever been. This year they had a Build-a-bear station, bumper cars, laser tag, and ice skating it was such a good time. I also decided to explore around the Towson area and me and my best friend went to the Towson Diner. They have the best breakfast and even better service I enjoyed it there and I would recommend it to anyone! Ok Ladies that is all I have for now until next time ladies Stay fabulous love Jazmin

If I do say so myself

Happy Saturday Friends!!! I made it through my first week of this semester. It is crazy to think that a year ago I was only a sophomore here and a year from now I will be getting ready for graduation... Man time flys! Anyway update PitchFit is finally in full swing!! Auditions are Monday February 10th. Auditions are always exciting for me because there is so much hidden talent at this school and when the girls all get together it's just amazing to hear this synchronized sound from so many women from different walks of life. On another note I have so much reading to do for class but class this week helped me realize I would love to plan events and weddings after I graduate... I think I would be good at it if I do say so myself lol

Hitting the books

I have been back in classes for only 3 days and it just hit me that I was back. Being home for so long will do that to you I guess... Well I'm loving my classes so far especially my Business of Weddings class I truly believe that I can plan some of the most amazing events and weddings this world has ever seen however I didn't know how much work it was going to be until my professor looked at everyone in the class that said they wanted to be wedding planners and said man you are crazy and all I could think was man she is right lol. The biggest struggle for me this week has been finding the strength to tackle the first stages of PitchFit, every semester we have auditions and then we have to plan a time to meet and have rehearsal again since everyone's schedule has changed and for some reason this semester the girls are very prepared and answering all of my emails and things seem to be working themselves out but I have been a lazy president this week.... I need to get it together. Well NDMU I am done ranting about my week I hope you all have an awesome rest of your week
Xoxo Jaz

Tray sledding

Such an awesome day in the snow at NDMU. My freshman year I wasn't able to see how beautiful our campus was in the snow but this year I have seen a lot. Not only is our school beautiful while it snows we have some of the most awesome hills to sled down. During one of the reunions one of the alums told me about how they would use the old dinning hall food trays for sleds and slide down the huge hills, when I heard that I thought I have to do that one day.... Guess who rode down the hills on the trays.... ME!!

Getting ready for the semester!

Getting ready to go back to school. I have tons of things I need to get before I go like the usuals toothpaste, laundry stuff. The best part was that I was able to get my books earlier on in the break. That would have to be my advice start looking for your books earlier because you don't want to lose out on great deals from websites and our book store! I'm so ready to go back and start spring training with the rest of the CA's we have a lot of decorating to do before the students come!!! I'm in the process of making these awesome door tags for my residents :)
